Hi! I’m Angela, an Aussie fashion designer who moved from Sydney to Lubbock Texas, for love. 

My husband, Jonathan Blackwell, grew up here and we moved ‘back’ in 2015. In Lubbock, I moved from fashion to food and got a job as Pastry Chef at one of Lubbock’s best restaurants, La Sirena, from their opening day. I worked under Executive Chef, Jessica Fultz at the beloved Mermaid Kitchen for four years. Friends started asking me to make cakes for birthdays and other events, and it grew into Nashwell Bespoke Bakery. 

If you haven’t guessed already, we like to travel, so the menu may be a little different from the usual West Texas fare. I also like making healthier cakes, whether that means allergen-free or simply made from wholesome all-natural ingredients and a little less sugar.

So in a sense, yes you can. You can have your cake and eat it too, or at least stick to your diet. 

And yes, we still have clothing too! Nearly everything you see here, we designed and made in Sydney, accredited by Ethical Clothing Australia.
